My name is Maxie, and I'm an adorable 11 month old (as of 4-28-2013) 14 pound Pug. So far I have had two homes. Both times my owners were forced to give me up. We were all so sad. Now I am a scared insecure pup who just wants and needs a committed family to love and care for me my whole life and give me a home I can call my very own.
My foster says I'm such a good boy. I'm potty trained and starting to learn some commands. I am currently in Utica PetSmart training class on Saturdays from 1:30 till 2:30. I only have 4 classes left, (May 4, 11, 18 and 25) If you are interested in seeing how good I am doing, come up and see me. If you’re interested in adopting me, you will need to be committed to keeping up my classes. That way you can be a part of my training and learning process. That should help us get off to a really good start. I just need someone to help me build up my confidence and security. Right now, I do like to stick close to my foster cuz I'm afraid she might leave me too.
I would like a home that has lots of TLC to give me and who likes to walk and play. I will need a fenced yard and no long periods of time alone. I'm shy until I get to know and trust you, after that, I will love you up so much. I am a very sweet boy. If you’re willing to be a little patient with me, come and see me. I am worth the little extra time It will take for me to trust you. I won’t take too long because I just want to love and be loved so bad I will respond to your love quickly.
I will make a loyal, terrific and fun addition to a variety of families who have the time to build my confidence and introduce me to new and exciting situations.

We show adoptable pets at the Utica PetSmart each Saturday from 11 to 3.

The adoption fee of $250 includes current vaccines and sterilization.

I will try to be at the Utica PetSmart Adoption Center on Hall Road, east of Van Dyke when we are there. Email or call if you are making a trip and we'll try to make sure I'm at the store. Maybe we could set up a special appointment for you to meet me!

Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment.
